Sorry about that, I should put a note up somewhere to explain. Basically the FileLodge links are direct links to the mp3 files, so you need to right hand click the link and select SAVE TARGET AS or SAVE LINK AS, depending on your browser.

Merry Christmas to you too. :-)

I also prefer her first album, but my comment was really with regards to the style of song she creates, although I'm well aware that things are never totally black and white - you are either into bluesy singer-songwriter stuff, or you're not. I mean there are always gonna be good and bad tracks in any genre, but I feel that you know roughly what you are gonna get with Norah Jones - I wasn't expecting some house or hip-hop... and strangely enough... I didn't get any from her.

It is not only a question of like her or don't. It is a question of material. Her second album, relying more on self-penned work and collaborations with her boyfriend (now producer) and bass player, was less solid. With this third album, she is again keeping it in the family, whereas in my opinion she'd have more artistic success covering jazz tunes like the Ellington number she did the last time out or her brilliant Hank Williams cover on the debut CD. I simply do not believe that, as songwriters, Jones and Hamilton will have the prolific output and quality of, say, and Andy Partridge in his day.

I have the deluxe edition of Feels Like Home, and standout tracks on that album include her Graham Parsons cover on the DVD, along with the Ellington cover I just mentioned. (This album is a bargain at 7.99 "club price" or from private sellers on amazon.)

I just don't want to see her give up on interpreting great songs from other artists on her records. Sunrise is sweet and all that, but it doesn't have the "gravitas" of Cold, Cold Heart or The Nearness of You.
