Between this, John Legend's "Save Room" (sampling "Stormy") and new Jive records chick Natasha's "Hey Hey hey" (sampling what I think is a break from Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' "Mickey's Monkey" ), it sure sounds like it. I've been digging it for the last few weeks, and you're right, it's got it's influences but it is fresh and new.
